Hi. I’m Nick.

My origin story goes back to grade school, when my grandfather got an old iMac and AOL dial-up internet. I would visit my grandparents’ house after school most days of the week. That’s where I first explored the internet, tinkered with computers, and often helped my grandfather experiment with technology.

Additionally, my aunt used to help manage technology in downtown Chicago, and in the summers I would go with her to work and explore the server rooms in her building.

These early sparks set me on the tech path I’m on today, alongside a good dose of sci-fi altruism and a desire for adventure.

Before my tech career, I had my share of unique jobs, including detasseling corn in the fields of Illinois and working campground maintenance in northern Wisconsin.

I also satisfy my need for adventure through travel. I’ve climbed the Dolomites in Italy, dived the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, hiked The Wave in Utah, explored a salt mine in Poland, gone car camping in Big Bend National Park in Texas, and stayed in a capsule hotel in Tokyo.

When I started my career, I never could have imagined the opportunities I’d have, how I’d get here, or how quickly the industry could change. Especially with the rapid integration of AI into everyday life, helping us be more productive and bring ideas to life faster.

In my early career, I was 100% focused on the code, understanding how everything connects, and solving technical challenges. Now, with over 10 years of experience, my perspective has shifted toward people. I’ve found more fullfilment in mentoring, guiding, and collaborating with others to accomplish things I could never achieve alone.

While I can’t see myself ever fully letting go of coding or experimenting with technology (I like it too much), I’m committed to continuing to grow as a mentor and manager. I’m grateful for all the opportunities I’ve had so far and am looking forward to the future.
